Cobalt tetrasulfophthalocyanine, CoII(TSPc)4-, is shown to be an effective catalyst of decomposition of formic acid to
hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The overall mechanism comprises the reduction of CoII(TSPc)4-, followed by the reaction
of intermediate complex CoI(TSPc)5- with proton.
