This work reports on synthesis and characterizations of cobalt(II) complex 1Co with octopus-like phthalocyanine ligand bearing eight peripheral O-benzyl-diethyleneglycol substituents. Concentration-dependent investigation of UV-Vis spectra of 1Co in chloroform evidenced of its aggregation at high concentrations (0.3 mМ) with the formation of dimers with dimerization constant (4.8±0.2)∙103 M-1.Supramolecular assembling of 1Co with fullerene C70 was studied by UV-Vis titration and by ESR spectroscopy. Both methods suggest the absence of notable interactions between electronic systems of 1Co and C70 in ground state, the formation of the assembly 1Co•C70 occurs via noncovalent interactions.
