Novel subphthalocyanine analogue – tris(1,2,5-thiadiazolo)subporphyrazinatoboron(III) chloride was prepared by interaction of 1,2,5-thiadiazolo-3,4-dicarbonitrile with BCl3 in chlorobenzene. Strong p-electron deficient nature of the fused 1,2,5-thiadiazole rings leads to hypsochromic shift of the Q-band to 538 nm.
