N-Benzylpiperidone-3 condensation with a podand dialdehyde and NH4OAc, instead of expected derivatives of 2,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane, afforded two novel azacrown ethers fused with (∆3-piperidino)-[2,3-e]pyrimidine moieties.
